We are, as our name suggests, a family orientated chiropractic clinic whose main focus is restoring the body’s natural ‘innate’ ability to heal by removing nervous system interference. The practice is conveniently located on the corner of 784 Cavendish Road and Wyncroft Street (or the southern end of Pine Mountain Road) in the leafy suburb of Holland Park. Established since 1981 and initially servicing Carina and its surrounding suburbs as Hart Chiropractic Clinic, my family chiropractor, has advantageous onsite car parking since relocating in June 2017, and has appointment times available before and after work, including Saturday mornings. For your convenience, on the spot HiCaps and Medicare (EPC) claiming is available, along with Eftpos and credit card facilities.
Dr Sharon Howard graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Masters of Chiropractic from Macquarie University. She initially practiced at a busy multi-disciplined clinic in western New South Wales, where she gained many skills from her experiences and worked for two and a half years before moving to Carina.
Dr Howard has a passion for Chiropractic that leads her to caring for week old babies through to the elderly. From her varied chiropractic experiences and continued education seminars, she has gained skills that allow her to apply her method of care based on her patients history, age and personal preferences for adjusting techniques. Dr Douglas Hart graduated in 1968 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, USA. He practiced in Rockhampton until 1981 when he established a practice in Carina.
Through continued education he has studied and incorporated many advanced techniques that include Gonstead, SOT, AK, Activator, TBM and NET. These varied techniques and the vast knowledge obtained from years of practice, allow him to care for a range of patients, from newborns to the elderly.MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Dr Niki McGuinness qualified as a chiropractor from Murdoch University and spent the last 7 years running her own multidisciplinary clinic in Perth before moving to Brisbane to join the my family chiropractor team.
Dr McGuinness has a particular interest in treating complex chronic neck/back pain (with or without headaches), acute back injuries and disc related pain. She also has a special interest in treating children with muscular related pain such as knee and hip pain or headaches in the young child.
Techniques used include activator, drop piece, manual adjusting therapy, flexion distraction/traction. Dr McGuinness is also certified in advanced dry needling, kinesiology taping and assisted soft tissue mobilisation. She is currently aslo learing SOT.MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Lisa Bruce completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage at South-West TAFE. She has always had an interest in natural health after receiving chiropractic care for many years herself. Lisa decided on a career change from the Child Care industry to assist others with their health goals.
Lisa specialises in identifying areas of tension in the body and tailors an individual care plan for each of her clients. She works closely with our chiropractors to ensure the massage you receive supports your chiropractic care. Her massage techniques not only help to relax sore muscles but boost circulation, reduce pain and stress.
